Welcome back to another episode of Soul Saturations.
I want to talk to you today a little bit about karmic patterns. We all have karma in this life. It's our past generational learning. It's how we were raised. It's lifetimes of experiences and so much more that makes up our karma. It is the way that we have chosen to respond in each and every moment in this lifetime. And that's a lot of moments or karmic patterns run deep. And until we can bring consciousness and awareness to these calm karmic patterns, they're going to continue to run our lives.
The habits and the patterns and the way that we respond, moment to moment experience to experience they form patterns in our nervous system and expectations of feelings and emotions in our physical bodies or karmic patterns are our habits and the body mind and how we relate and interact with the world. Our karmic patterns, our combination of our strengths and our weaknesses, and they dictate our reactions. So if we want to honor our karmic patterns, we have to first acknowledge them. We have literally spent lifetimes making these choices, responding in a certain way. If we're looking to change our reality, we have to first start by acknowledging what our current reality is and not all karma is bad karma. Sometimes a simple awareness of the pattern is all we need. So you've got some karmic patterns you want to change. Don't we all?
If we're first looking to change a pattern, we have to acknowledge it. We have to honor it. We have to thank you for being a part of our lessons of our curriculum, of our learning of our current experience, because we've had these patterns for lifetimes and every moment in your current life, it has kept you safe up until this moment. Take a moment to honor it, to acknowledge it, to give it some gratitude for being a part of your existence in your experience. If it is being illuminated in your life, give it some gratitude. It's giving you an opportunity to shift and change that part of your life. When we can first acknowledge that, that pattern that gives us the opportunity to bring awareness and consciousness so that we can change it. So as you're looking for this pattern, what is it?
What is the pattern? What is the habit? What is the response that we have moments a moment in these daily interactions? That's the karmic pattern? So what is the pattern for me? I've been working on shifting a karmic pattern around closing my heart when I'm feeling overwhelmed, or I feel like there's really intense emotion that is moving through me. I can feel the closure of my heart and I'm not fully expressing how I feel. So I shut down and I disconnect. So how do you think that's impacting my relationships? Not so well. For me, it's first acknowledging this pattern somewhere in my life, somewhere in my experience, somewhere in my journey, I learned that it wasn't safe to fully express from my heart, that my emotions weren't welcomed or being acknowledged. Instead I shut those emotions down and I closed off my heart.
Clearly this pattern, isn't helping my experience, this pattern, isn't allowing my full expansion and if I want to change it, I have to first make a choice to change it. Now that I have acknowledged the pattern, I have recognized that I have to start to identify the feeling, the emotion, the texture that exists beneath it. When I closed my heart, where does that come from? What is that feeling that longing, that yearning, that exists beneath that I'm looking for love. I'm looking to be acknowledged for my feelings just as they are. I'm looking for a safe container to express fully everything that I'm feeling. As I can start to honor the deeper emotions, the deeper sensations, the deeper textures I can make space to be with the feeling of the current reality around this karmic pattern. I'm longing for that feeling.
I'm a longing for that space to reveal my emotions and this is where the disconnection comes from because I haven't felt safe to reveal because I haven't felt safe to connect with the deeper truths of my heart. I disconnect. I pull back, I closed my heart off and I'm sure as not expressing it to my partner. This is the karmic pattern that I am yearning to shift. I am yearning to change. So how do we start to do that? Every day time we change this, we choose the same response. We're failing to change our karmic pattern. Svery time I make a choice to close my heart, to shut my heart down from my emotions and not express the truth of my heart and how I'm really feeling, I'm solidifying that karmic pattern as my reality. So here's how we need to change.
We need to change the experience in our bodies, in our nervous systems, in our experience overall. So how do we retrain the nervous system? We literally have to do the opposite movement. John Weiland says, it's like PT for your soul. I love that. And I know that my partner not appreciates that too. So we have to literally do the opposite movement. If I am closing and tightening, I need to soften and reveal an open my heart. How do we start to change the pattern? The more we can do this, the more space we can create, the more we to shift the pattern. So have to do things that will bring more love, start to identify your karmic pattern. What is the karmic pattern? What is the habit? What is the response? What is the thing that you are doing that you wish to change?
What is the feeling and the sensation that exists underneath it? What is the energy? The yearning, the emotion connect with that. And then what do you need to bring to shift that behavior? So great bounding is where you have a choice taking a moment to ground in and be present and aware of your, your ability and your capacity to choose a different experience in the moment that you choose a different reaction, a more loving, a more conscious response. You are changing your karmic patterns. You were literally retraining your nervous system, that this is the new pattern. You are creating new habits and new karma. You solidify it into your soul's existence. So here's a lovely practice that I was guided through by John Wineland that I want to share with you now. So if you are able to take a moment to come into a comfortable, seated or standing position, and I want you to close your eyes, now bring some awareness to your current karmic pattern. Feel it, bring it back, not to mind and the energy that exists when you're in this space, as you're practicing this, I want you to feel how would your physical body move with this karmic pattern? What would your expression I shouldn't be, do you feel at tightening? Do you feel a closing? What would the shape of your body be? Do you constrict and tighten every part of your body be with that for a moment, hold it, feel it feel that expression in your body associated with that karmic pattern.
How is your breath? Is your breath shallow? Do you feel tight? Do you feel a constriction? What is the shape that your body would take with it? This karmic pattern now, sorry to relax. And I want you to come into a physical expression of what the opposite movement would be. So is it a Swain? Is it an opening and an expansion? Is it a lifting of your heart? Breathe into that and feel that new expression in your body, this response, this new choice, this new habit, this new pattern that is going to shift your karma, feel it, feel the energy that is flowing and moving through your body through your experience. If your arms are raised, lift them up, expand, how can you get even more expansive at this moment? Feel your heart, lift your breaths, deepen and expand. Be with that and feel that in your energy, feel that in your body, feel that anchoring into your nervous system. As you start to relax that come into presence, come into stillness. What energetic shifts do you notice in your body? Can you feel that open flowing, energetic column and channel that exists within you? Do you feel the lightness and lifting of your heart, breathe into that and just notice the difference, the change, the awareness.
It takes awareness of these comic karmic patterns to start to shift. So as you feel that we know that we are imprinting this new feeling, this new experience into our beam, into our nervous system, into our energetic bodies and feel that change. Now take time with that practice, sit with it, expand it. Spend 10 minutes in that space of moving your body from tight contraction. What is the physical shape of the original karmic pattern that you are shifting? Then what does it feel like to shift it, to release it, to choose a new pattern, move your body, feel that expression in that energy flow through you, and then bring awareness, bring consciousness and stillness to the shift in your physical body and your energetic body. What does that feel like as you start to feel this shift and this change and this difference, we can then repeat the new patterns.
We create new karma. We are retraining our nervous system. So do this practice again and again and again and again, and again and again, we have literally done this lifetime. So if we are changing a karmic pattern that we have chosen for thousands of times or more times than we can count, we have to choose the new patterns again. And again, until it becomes our current reality, this is how we choose to create a different response, a different reaction. And this is how we create more, love more consciousness, and we create new karmic patterns. So I'm on this journey with you. You are not doing this alone. I want to know how it feels for you.
